09/8/21 – A beautiful day to play music. Getting ready on my upcoming gig at Cardinal in North HIlls on Thursday. And I found out that though there are so many musicians out there, seldom does a musician actually play somewhere. Part of it is that they dont think they are any good at it, and part of it is that they do not take the time and energy to go knocking on doors! And that is what it takes. Dont email a venue….Go down there and say Hello. I have gotten 90% of my gigs by introducing myself. We have shyed away from personal contact, with our ipads and iphones and txt messages and emails. GO down and say Hello. Your first impression determines whether the venue manager will want to even have you audition. Thats it for now.
